Offers unique engineering …

… it usually means that a lot of innovation went into it. This is what makes SERRA one of the most innovative companies in Germany. The traditional TOP 100 trophy that has been awarded for 100 years and is the only company comparison in Germany which not only recognises particular innovations, but it also rates the innovative strength and outstanding breakthroughs of the various companies. SERRA’s sawmill technology is amongst the innovation elite. Our innovation management and innovation success was evaluated in an extensive selection process.

When dreams come true...

… then we are talking about SERRA, a success story that began in 1987 for the Fritz family. Back then, the idea was to saw the logs from the own forest with a horizontal band saw on site. This unique invention was introduced at the “Central Agricultural Festival” in Munich the very same year. A first for Germany. The interest was correspondingly great. Two years of expert development followed: precision, durability and performance. These were the pillars upon which the production-ready model was designed. At the end of 1989, the first three mobile sawmills passed the technical inspection. This was the moment SERRA (Latin for ‘saw’) Maschinenbau GmbH was born, on 1 January 1990.

If you are successful with SERRA…

… then the many unique ideas offered by SERRA can flourish alongside your company. Your sawmill may turn into a sawmill plant with optimised material flow and re-sawing at the blink of an eye.

When the saw travels to the tree...

… then an increasing number of forest owners, craftsmen, farmers and sawyers become aware of the advantages the SERRA mobile sawmill offers: on four wheels, it can travel wherever wood is processed. Whether boards, beams or slats: different model sizes and price ranges satisfy any customer requirements.

When innovation pays off…

… then the inventions from SERRA have enabled many people to discover lucrative market niches. More than 1,600 sawmills worldwide in some 80 countries speak for themselves. In Germany alone, SERRA is now the leading manufacturer with over 500 broadband sawmills sold.
