“As a master carpenter for many years, I know that timber is always scarce and in demand. What's more, the cut timber usually has to be transported long distances to the construction site. That gave me the idea of starting my own business with a mobile sawmill. I wanted a machine that could do everything, i.e. process a large tree trunk into slats, planks, squared timber and posts in a wide variety of lengths and dimensions.

"We use SERRA sawmills to saw our high-end products, and with the new XE 160 stationary sawmill for heavy logs, we achieve both precision and efficiency.
I am thoroughly impressed with both the quality of the sawmill and the exceptional service provided by Jason Fry at WINTERSTEIGER during the installation of these advanced sawmills. It's paramount for us to have the support of the manufacturer to facilitate our learning process and handle any repairs and maintenance efficiently. Trusting our supplier is absolutely essential in ensuring smooth operations.

For over 25 years, we have concentrated on the processing of historic oak. We always ordered a SERRA contract sawmill for the sawing work. In 2011, we had a large order and decided to buy a machine ourselves. Thanks to the KE 90, we can now successfully offer our customers a high-quality service.

Even as a young boy, I dreamed of having a mobile sawmill. At the age of 18, I bought an FE 50 with which I sawed over 1,000 cubic meters in two years. Then I was able to afford a Montana for contract cutting and another two years later even a Bavaria SL 130i! When dreams come true, you can make a good living ....

”30,000 hectares of land, mainly forest, and a SERRA sawmill belong to one of the many monasteries on the holy Mount Athos. The increasing demand for sawn timber gave the Orthodox monks this business idea. There are now five sawmills in the autonomous monks' republic. More are to follow.”
