XE 135 and XE 160
Log band sawmill for heavy logs
The extremely robust and heavy construction of the XE 135 and XE 160 sawmills was designed specifically for applications in plant engineering. The variable saw head with plenty of space above the saw blade allows you to cut heavy logs with a diameter of up to 160 cm (62.99 in).
Two sizes are available: the XE 135 for logs up to 135 centimeters (53.15 in) and the XE 160 for logs up to 160 (23.62 in) centimeters in diameter. With a cutting width of 140 cm (55.11 in), for example, the XE 160 can saw a tabletop.
Description
The XE 135 and XE 160 sawmills are primarily used in industrial log processing and in plant construction. They are also perfect as additional machines for cutting extremely heavy timber. Convenient access to the saw blade with hydraulic cover opening and hydraulically adjustable saw blade guidance make for operator-friendly blade replacement.

Product features
The base frame
- Solid steel supports, 20 mm (0.79 in) thick, connect two I-beams with a height of 300 mm (11.81 in).
- Together, they form the torsion-free foundation for handling the heaviest loads.
- Stainless steel supports prevent blue staining of acidic woods (e.g. oak and larch).
- 28 l (7.40 gal) power hydraulics allow quick and easy loading, rotating, shifting and clamping of the logs. As standard on the XE 160 (available as an option for the XE 135)
- Optional chain conveyors supply the XE 135 (XE 160) with fresh wood.
- The ejector, chain turner and log clamp turner ensure that your milled lumber is moved sideways and placed on the board removers (further transport, for example, on roller conveyors through circular resaws or band saws, or feed board by board toward the rear to a conveyor belt with a board cleaning unit)
The cutting unit
- A robust saw head with variable blade tension and numerous extras
- The blade tensioning is offset upwards to provide 70 cm (27.56 in) (on the XE 160) space for the milled lumber above the saw blade (XE 135: 50 cm (19.68 in))
- A clamping distance of 300 mm (11.81 in) allows the use of shorter saw blades for smaller log diameters.
- Hydraulic protective cover opening
- 100 cm (39.37 in) roller diameter on the XE 160 (XE 135: 80 cm (31.50 in))
- Saw blade width 150 mm (5.90 in) on the XE 160 (XE 135: 120/140 mm (4.72/5.51 in))
- Excellent cutting precision
The operator’s stand
- Various optional operating solutions that differ from the standard version
- Standalone version, mechanically decoupled and only connected to the sawmill electrically and hydraulically
- Prevents vibrations and shocks that may be transferred to the operator’s stand when loading and turning heavy logs
- Can be easily integrated into a heated, self-built space behind the machine
- Optional: ergonomic V-Cockpit with comfortable leather seat
- V-Cockpit: all functions and screens are arranged for easy access
