Mobile Sawmill SERRA ME110 in Action: Alessandro Kleinberger’s Wandering Saw Enthralls All of Carinthia
What’s behind the success of the mobile wandering saw?
Young entrepreneur Alessandro Kleinberger from Wernberg has identified a market gap with his company “Der Holzwichtel” and is focusing on flexibility and customer proximity. With his mobile sawmill, the SERRA ME110, he travels across Carinthia – directly to farms, forestry operations, and private individuals who want to process their wood on-site.
Passion for Wood Meets Mobile Technology
The idea was born from a deep passion for wood. Kleinberger, a trained carpenter and former truck and excavator driver, initially started by crafting wooden wall clocks. But he quickly realized that his enthusiasm for cutting and processing wood went far beyond that. He evolved his business model and invested in a mobile sawmill that he transports like a trailer – specifically the SERRA ME110, a powerful and compact sawmill designed for flexible use.
Flexibility That Inspires
“People save themselves the trip to the sawmill – I come directly to them,” explains Kleinberger. This mobile solution not only brings efficiency but also fosters personal connections. He is supported by his partner Corinna Granditsch, who also inspired the company name “Der Holzwichtel.”
Modern Communication Meets Traditional Craftsmanship
Although the technology behind the wandering saw isn’t new, it’s rarely offered in Carinthia. Kleinberger relies on word-of-mouth and social media to reach especially younger customers. After a year of building up the business, things are now running successfully – demonstrating how modern mobility and traditional craftsmanship can harmonize perfectly.
