Components

The log lifter

  • Two different variants: on heavy machines, the log lifters are supported by the frame. On lighter machines, the log lifters are supported on the ground, can be adjusted to the length of the logs and folded up for transport.
  • Depending on the model, logs with a weight of between 3.2 t and 10 t can be lifted onto the sawing bed.

The squaring arms

  • Prevent the log from rolling off during loading and turning
  • Are required to produce right-angled lumber. The angle is adjustable.
  • Monitoring of the squaring arms by the control prevents the saw entering the steel.

The log clamp turner/log turning assistant

  • Turns and clamps the log without damaging it
  • Particularly flexible for special cuts like wedges, multiple-sided beams, etc.
  • Ideal in combination with the log turning assistant, which prevents the log rolling back

The log rollers

  • Move the log backward and forward to the right position on the sawing bed
  • Can also move the milled lumber away toward the rear
  • Lower-priced variant without drive available as an option

Toe boards with clamps

  • Lift the log at the thin end until the center of the log is positioned parallel to the sawing bed
  • Clamp the log with spring-mounted, height-adjustable clamps
  • Pull the log down and press it against the log supports
  • Lower-priced variant: clamps without log leveling function (KE 90 only)

Chain turner/ejector

  • Chain turners and ejectors move the milled lumber sideways onto the board removers beside the mill.
  • Chain turners allow quick turning of small and medium-sized logs.

The board removers

  • As the log is turned, outer and side boards fall onto the lowered board removers.
  • The rest of the milled lumber is pushed onto the board removers with the help of ejectors or chain turners.
  • The board removers are lifted, and the milled lumber is transported onward, stays in position or falls to the ground – depending which version you choose.
